Grisbacka School is a F–6 school located in Grisbacka, one of Umeå's older neighborhoods.

The large schoolyard invites play, games, and movement. Nearby, there are parks, ski trails, and forests. We are now looking for a substitute teaching assistant for our school!

Employment Information

The position is a full-time substitute, with a planned start date of 2026-01-07 or by agreement until 2026-06-26.

Your Responsibilities

In this position, you will work as a student resource in a middle school class (grades 4–6), with primary responsibility for supporting students with medical needs. The role involves being close to the student during the school day, both in the classroom and during breaks, providing the support necessary for the student to participate in teaching in the best possible way.

As a resource in the class, you also contribute to the pedagogical development of both the student you support and the other students. You actively participate in teaching and collaborate closely with the class teacher and other staff to create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment. The work involves adapting support measures according to the student's needs while encouraging independence and challenging the student in a developmental way.

About You

You are a secure and stable adult who serves as a good role model, with the ability to build good relationships with students. You see each individual and contribute to a safe and inclusive school environment while collaborating with colleagues to achieve common goals. We are looking for an engaged person who shares our values, wants to contribute to continuous improvements, and achieve set goals. We place great importance on your personal suitability.

Requirements:

• Approved high school diploma
• Experience working with children and young people
• Fluent knowledge of the Swedish language in speech and writing, as well as basic knowledge of English
• Valid extract from the criminal record, due to the law on suitability checks

Meritorious:

• Knowledge of type 1 diabetes
