Västangårds School is hiring a Teaching Assistant

Västangårds School is an F–9 school located in the picturesque Umedalen, in the famous Sculpture Park.

The school has approximately 450 students, from preschool to ninth grade, and a staff group of around 50 educators. Your Responsibilities

In this role, you will be a safe, stable, and present adult who contributes to a positive and predictable school environment. You will, among other things:

• Be a responsible and supportive role model for students in their daily school environment.
• Lead and participate in activities during breaks and in after-school care to create a safe, meaningful, and structured everyday life.
• Support students in teaching situations, during breaks, and in targeted activities, both individually and in groups, based on their needs.

About You

We are looking for someone who is a trained teaching assistant, childcare worker, or has another equivalent qualification. You have previous experience working with children and youth, preferably as a teaching assistant, leisure leader, or similar profession within school/after-school care. Knowledge of the after-school care curriculum and educational assignment is an advantage.

You are calm and stable in your interactions. You are also attentive to individual needs and circumstances and can adapt accordingly. You should also be very clear and structured.

In order to develop children's language skills and communicate with children, guardians, and colleagues, document and engage with the preschool's governing documents, it is required that you have good knowledge of the Swedish language in both spoken and written form.

Due to the law on suitability checks, a certificate from the police's criminal record must be presented upon employment.
