In Region Östergötland, 33 health centers work together to provide the best possible care for the residents of the county.
Significant investments are being made in expanded primary care, and as a resident doctor with us, you will receive:
- The opportunity to complete BT training as part of your permanent employment as a resident
- 550 residents as a full-time working resident doctor when you are in the middle of your residency and 1100 residents as a newly qualified specialist doctor.

The Primary Care Center Östergötland consists of 33 region-run health centers, Health Center Finspång, Child Health Care Unit, 1177 and emergency centers in the evenings and weekends, and the General Medicine Training Center. We conduct a broad primary care operation where we offer care to everyone throughout their lives; newborns, children, adolescents, adults, the elderly, and patients at the end of life.

The ST training in general medicine in Region Östergötland is organized by the General Medicine Training Center (AMC), where study directors and educational secretaries coordinate side training, arrange courses and training, and participate in the development of the resident doctor's training plan. From 2025, the Health Center Finspång and Skärblacka will be a joint operational area. The change aims to provide a robust operation that is prepared to meet the demographic challenges we face in the future.
The operations currently have nearly 27,000 registered patients and a workforce of about 120 employees. The new operational area includes the health center Finspång and the health center Skärblacka, as well as the Emergency Center Finspång. Included in the health center Finspång is also a branch in Rejmyre.

Job Description
As a resident doctor, you will work with your own patient list. You will meet patients of all ages in your own clinic or our emergency clinic. During your time at the health center, you will be responsible for special housing and work at the child health center for a period. You will supervise students, perform development and research work. You will primarily work weekdays and daytime, but a bit into your residency, you will work on-call during evenings, weekends, and nights.
Work Group
The medical team at both health centers consists of 15 specialist doctors, 10 resident doctors, and, at times, BT, AT, and junior doctors. We also have recurring medical students in our operations.

About You
You are a licensed doctor and hold a medical license issued by the National Board of Health and Welfare, as well as Swedish language skills corresponding to documented level C1, as you need to communicate with patients, relatives, and colleagues fluently. If you have not completed AT or have an approved Basic Competence according to BT, there is an opportunity to complete BT during the first year of employment.
You have good collaboration skills and can plan, organize, and prioritize your work. You have good judgment and communicate clearly. We want you to be unpretentious and enjoy working in a team. We place great importance on personal qualities.
