Are you interested in developing yourself in your professional role? Are you attracted to orthopedics in a highly specialized context? Do you find development and innovative thinking appealing in operations? Then we have the position for you.

The Orthopedic Ward has begun a development this autumn in close collaboration with Umeå University. We have now opened our Clinical Education Ward (KUA). We are at the beginning of this both challenging and exciting journey. Training of students and staff has always been close to our hearts, and we are now further developing this. The Orthopedic Ward will thus become a unit with a unique blend of highly specialized care that meets clinical education. An exciting, educational, and multifaceted workplace that is in a phase of development. We are now hiring more nurses to take this development further and would love for you to apply for the position. If this sounds interesting, read on.

Our orthopedic ward in Umeå has up to 32 care places, and we work cross-professionally in care teams around patients aged between 18 and 100+. The ward consists of sections where we form nursing and medical teams to create specialized competence and increase patient safety.

The facilities we operate in are newly renovated and adapted for our operations to function optimally. The Orthopedic Ward is a workplace where we constantly work to improve and maintain a good working environment, a workplace where we care for each other and help one another within and between professions, and have an open climate between employees and managers.

We offer onboarding at your new workplace with the help of our Instructional Nurses and other colleagues. You can choose whether you want to work on a traditional AB schedule or on a 3:3 model. A workplace where we see the importance of competence development, you will also have the opportunity to attend our own orthopedic training as well as participate in the ongoing internal training at the clinic. You will have the opportunity to shadow in other operations. As the first care ward in Region Västerbotten, we have introduced a competence ladder for nurses. To allow nursing staff to focus on patients, we work with support functions such as: Discharge Coordinator through Lifecare, receptionists, relieving functions in the medication room, kitchen assistants, and care services.

If this sounds interesting, we look forward to meeting you to tell you more about our operations and also to learn more about you. You are also warmly welcome to shadow us for 1 day to see more of the operations.
