Medicincentrum is part of Norrland's University Hospital and is a large clinic with approximately 300 employees. We are currently engaged in exciting development work to influence and develop the future of healthcare in the field of internal medicine. The operations encompass a large part of the internal medicine field: emergency medicine, gastroenterology, pulmonary and allergy medicine, endocrinology and diabetes, as well as nephrology.

At the nephrology clinic, which is part of Medicincentrum's outpatient care, we care for patients with various kidney diseases at different stages of their illness. The workgroup consists of 7 nurses, one nursing assistant, doctors, and paramedics. As a nurse at the nephrology clinic, you will have a focus and primary area of responsibility within kidney failure and transplantation investigations, peritoneal dialysis, or newly transplanted patients.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Currently, we are primarily looking for a nurse who will work with a focus on peritoneal dialysis, but depending on the applicant and their experience, other parts of the clinic's tasks may be relevant based on individual assessment. As a nurse primarily focused on patients in peritoneal dialysis at the nephrology clinic, you are part of the teamwork together with other professional categories around the patient before, during, and after their visit to the clinic. In the work with patients in peritoneal dialysis, you will be one of three nurses responsible for the patient group. This means that you will follow the patients from the time they are informed about peritoneal dialysis, through the initiation of the treatment form, and throughout their time with the treatment that they perform in their home environment.

The work consists of your own outpatient visits, lab review, telephone advice, and administrative work around patients, etc. A task that many appreciate in this role is that you go on home visits to your patients when they start their home treatment. Teaching staff is included in the work. In addition to working with peritoneal dialysis, you will also have tasks related to other parts of the nephrology clinic.

As the nephrology clinic is facing a couple of upcoming retirements in the coming years, there may be opportunities to focus on some of the other areas of responsibility such as kidney failure and newly transplanted patients.

You have the ability to create security for the patient and provide person-centered care where the patient is always at the center. Based on your role as a nurse, you are an obvious part of the teamwork with your colleagues from other professional areas. QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse. Experience working with nephrological diseases is an advantage.

You thrive in an environment with varied tasks and fluctuating intensity where you need to take significant personal responsibility. You work in teams and independently where collaboration and initiative skills, as well as flexibility and attention to detail, are qualities you possess.

A driver's license (B) is a requirement as home visits are included in the position.
