Workplace

Strandbacken has special accommodations for elderly people and is located in the community of Nordmaling, about 1 km from the center. Strandbacken consists of two buildings that include 9 residential units and a short-term unit.

There are currently two vacancies for care assistants with the current placement (home department) in the short-term unit Rehab.

The Role and Responsibilities

As a care assistant in the Strandbacken short-term department, your main responsibility is to provide good care and social support to our users according to the implementation plan and decisions from the assistance officer. Delegated tasks from the municipality's HSL unit are included in the daily work and involve, for example, administering medication, performing measurements, and assisting with training.

No day is the same, but the focus is on helping and supporting users in their rehabilitation. This can include everything from hygiene to mobility and social interaction. We work in teams and collaborate closely with primarily nurses, physiotherapists, and occupational therapists in both daily routines and more long-term development work.

Smartphones and PCs are used as support in the work. We work in the Lifecare system to document, communicate, and access information. For safety alarms and other alarms, Care Tech from Phoniro Care is used, and for medication signing, MCSS is used. Furthermore, new systems may also be introduced in the future.

With good service, high quality, and commitment, we ensure that users receive the best possible rehabilitation.

Your Profile

You have a recognized care assistant education and a professional certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare according to the new regulations from July 1, 2023 (or a certificate stating that you were permanently employed as a care assistant on that date).

Good knowledge of the Swedish language in both spoken and written form is a prerequisite for communicating with users, relatives, colleagues, and for being able to access documentation and receive medication delegation.

It is an advantage if you have:

• Previous experience of similar work within special accommodations, preferably in a short-term unit.
• Previously worked with helping elderly people, especially those suffering from dementia or various types of mental/physical disabilities.
• Good computer skills and the ability to quickly learn the various systems used in the operation and also broadly in the municipality.

You are structured, have personal maturity, and an empathetic ability, which makes it easy for you to build trust with both users, relatives, and colleagues. Last but not least, you can take your own initiative and are easy to collaborate with, as well as having the ability to work independently.
