We are looking for you who are a registered nurse and are interested in further developing as a specialist nurse in surgical care.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As an operating nurse with us, you contribute knowledge and commitment. You are responsible for the patient's safety, care, and nursing before and during the operation within your specialist area in a technology-intensive environment. Flexibility and the ability to prioritize are important qualities. You work independently in close collaboration with the surgeon while being part of an operating team. Since Skellefteå Hospital is a teaching hospital, supervision of students is also included.

There are several different specialties and a mix of planned and emergency activities that make the work varied and developing. We are a mix of new and experienced colleagues. You will have the opportunity to try working as an operating nurse under supervision before further education. You will also have the opportunity to gain insight into our closest collaborating units such as the sterilization unit, ICU, and post-op. You create a good foundation for your studies, and we have a mutual agreement about working in the unit after completing your education. The trainee period is 4-6 weeks, during which time you are loaned from your regular workplace. After completing the trainee program and until the university education starts, you will return to your regular workplace in the region. If you are employed by another employer, we will adapt the employment to your circumstances.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse with curiosity and interest in surgical care. You have formal eligibility to apply for further education as a specialist nurse. We prefer that you have experience in hospital nursing. You also have at least 1 year of professional experience as a nurse.

As a person, we see that you are responsible. You have a good ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team and contribute to the whole.
