YOUR ROLE

As a nursing assistant, you will work either in a care and nursing home or within home care. Regardless of placement, you support individuals in their daily lives with both care and practical assistance. This can involve everything from personal hygiene and transfers to creating safety for the individual – around the clock.

You work with a rehabilitative approach where you encourage the individual's own abilities and contribute to a meaningful everyday life. The role also includes documenting, planning, and coordinating efforts, as well as being a contact person for one or more individuals – which means you have a particularly important role in creating safety and continuity based on the individual's needs. Everything is done in close collaboration with colleagues and other resource persons – because here we work most of all for others, but also for each other.

YOUR COMPETENCE AND EXPERIENCE

You are a trained nursing assistant and can present a protected professional title or equivalent according to current regulations. You have very good knowledge of Swedish – you can read and absorb information, document, and communicate clearly both orally and in writing based on the individual's needs.

It is important that you have sufficient physical capabilities to manage the tasks the job entails.

To thrive in the role, you need to be stable and secure in yourself – since you often meet individuals in vulnerable situations, it is crucial that you can instill calm, build trust, and be a safe point in their daily lives.

It is advantageous if you have experience working in care and nursing, especially with individuals who have cognitive diseases. If you can also speak Finnish, Sámi, or sign language, we see it as an asset. In some workplaces, you may need a B driver's license and/or be able to cycle.

YOUR NEW WORKPLACE

Here you will be part of the social office's care and nursing department, which provides support to individuals throughout Skellefteå municipality. You work closely with colleagues who, like you, want to contribute to a safe and meaningful everyday life for others. Working hours vary between day, evening, and weekend.
