Temporary Nurse Position at Lycksele Hospital

Region Västerbotten works to ensure that good health and sustainable development strengthen each other. We take responsibility for equitable welfare and ensure that research and innovation yield results.

Lycksele Hospital is a small, modern, and well-equipped emergency hospital in Southern Lapland. Here, there are departments and clinics in areas such as surgery, radiology, internal medicine, rehab/stroke, ophthalmology, obstetrics/gynecology, psychiatry, child and adolescent psychiatry, and pediatrics. The hospital and the proximity to each other's operations provide a unique opportunity for development and learning across boundaries and a broad base to stand on. We conduct close collaboration between clinics both at the hospital and within the county.

The Center for Obstetrics and Gynecology Västerbotten (CFOG) is a county organization that includes and collaborates with the three hospitals in the region.

The CFOG unit in Lycksele, with about 30 employees, has a shared maternity and postpartum ward, gynecology ward, gynecological clinic, specialist maternity care, and midwifery clinic. In Lycksele, we are responsible for women's healthcare in Southern Lapland, where many of our patients travel up to 30 miles.

Our mission includes providing both emergency and planned outpatient and inpatient care to pregnant and non-pregnant women, primarily living in Västerbotten's inland, but also to women in the rest of the county. We continuously work within the county clinic and at the local level to create increased accessibility and continuity for our patient groups, where we offer good care with high quality.

We are now looking for a nurse for a temporary position in our outpatient services.

Our team also includes nursing assistants, midwives, doctors, secretaries, and social workers. Here, you will have the opportunity to give patients time and be present. In our workplace, we value a good working environment with excellent development opportunities for you as an employee.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a nurse with us, you contribute knowledge and commitment that makes people feel safe.

Your duties include, for example, surgical planning, caring for surgical patients before and after surgery, telephone advice, and taking care of abortion patients. The role also includes tasks as a contact nurse for cancer patients and assisting our doctors during patient meetings as needed.

As a nurse in the outpatient clinic, you will work in a team with nursing assistants and doctors, and to some extent with midwives. Since your work also involves some advising and scheduling of surgeries/outpatient appointments, you will also collaborate with our medical secretaries. Within the unit, there is close cooperation between the outpatient clinic and our inpatient department.

Together, we work for good and close care within our area of operation. You are expected to participate in development and create continuous improvement of care and our work environment by taking responsibility and contributing to development at the individual level as well as in the team. In the workgroup, we strive for a long-term sustainable working method based on RAK. We focus heavily on collaboration within and between units and professional categories. This occurs in an open and unpretentious manner. As a nurse with us, you will be a hub for collaborations both within and between other units. In your role, you will meet different patient groups and work with a wide variety of tasks where you have the opportunity to plan and organize your work based on the patients' needs, as well as what the operation and you yourself need.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for a licensed nurse. You need to master the fundamental work of a nurse, such as inserting IVs and handling pre- and/or post-operative patients. Previous experience working in an outpatient clinic is an advantage.

We believe that you have good collaboration skills and work well with others. You relate to others in a responsive and smooth manner, where you listen, communicate, and resolve any conflicts constructively. You are communicative and convey messages clearly and well-formulated. You are structured and take responsibility for your tasks, prioritize and follow up on your deadlines, and are used to working independently while seeing connections and solving complex problems.

We also value good leadership qualities, where you as an employee make thoughtful decisions, create engagement and participation, and motivate others towards common goals.
