Kalmarsund Gymnasium Federation is a municipal federation responsible for conducting and developing upper secondary education and municipal adult education for the member municipalities of Borgholm, Kalmar, Mönsterås, Mörbylånga, and Torsås. We have approximately 4000 students and 600 employees distributed across our five schools.

Jenny Nyström School is one of the upper secondary schools in Kalmarsund Gymnasium Federation and has over 800 students distributed across six different national programs and three introductory programs. Within Jenny Nyström School, there is also adapted upper secondary school. We are a forward-thinking school with an open climate that believes in both you as staff and in our students.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a social pedagogue in Jenny Nyström School's introductory program, where we have many students with high absenteeism, one of your tasks will be to work on relationship-building, individual support, and preventive measures to motivate students back to studies. You will participate in the work of mapping, investigating, and following up on the causes of problematic absenteeism in collaboration with the school's student health team. Contact with guardians is an important part of the work.

Your assignment includes working closely with students to increase safety in various social situations that students encounter at school. You will work for a safe social school climate and be a support for the students. Through your work, you will relieve teachers and complement their student care efforts.

You are responsible for safety measures during the school day. This may include supervision during both breaks and lessons. You will catch students who are skipping school.

QUALIFICATIONS

Competence/educational background:

• Education in social work.

Experience working with youth suffering from mental health issues is an advantage.

OTHER

Before an offer of employment, an acceptable extract from the police criminal record for work within the school must be presented.

The position will be filled on the condition that it is not needed by surplus staff or that necessary political decisions are made.
