Municipal Management Administration

The Municipal Management Administration leads, develops, and supports the municipality's total organization and operations based on applicable legislation and guidelines. Within our departments, we work with finance, HR, communication, citizen services, as well as planning and growth. We have a strong focus on sustainable development, communication, and innovation to meet the municipality's future needs and challenges.

With a strong and stable economy, Trelleborg is growing rapidly, both through a steady increase in population and through urban transformation, densification, and new construction. A cooperation agreement has been established regarding emergency preparedness work for Trelleborg, Vellinge, and Skurup municipalities, which means that all work is coordinated through the security unit in Trelleborg. We are an ambitious team that develops together and benefits from each other's knowledge in the work of creating a safer everyday life for our citizens. We are now looking for a new colleague in crisis preparedness and civil defense who will work to support the operations in Vellinge municipality during 2026. The organizational placement will be in the Municipal Management Administration, security unit in Trelleborg. The position is a fixed-term employment. The current need is until 2026-12-31, with a possible extension.

Job Responsibilities

As a Security Coordinator, you will work broadly within the municipality's security work. You will be responsible together with the security manager and other colleagues for the following areas in Vellinge municipality:

• Drive and develop the municipality's work within the four prioritized emergency preparedness areas: food, drinking water, fuel, and operational purchases. This includes developing plans, routines, and working methods that ensure that purchases and investments are translated into robust emergency preparedness measures.
• Support the municipality's operations in conducting continuity analyses and lead the work of developing and updating continuity plans to strengthen the municipality's ability to maintain essential services during disruptions.
• Support the operations with war organization through both further development and follow-up.

For certain roles in Trelleborg Municipality, there may be tasks that require the position to be security vetted. If a position is affected by this, it will always be communicated at or before the first interview.

Qualifications

For the role of Security Coordinator, an academic education in security, risk management, or another direction that the employer deems relevant is required. You have relevant professional experience for the assignment.

The position requires a B driver's license, as you need to be able to travel to the partner municipalities where part of the work is performed.

Similar professional experience from municipal operations or politically governed organizations is advantageous for the position.

Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability. You can demonstrate the ability and examples of working both independently and in a team. You have a natural talent for working in a structured, solution-focused, and pedagogical manner. Additionally, you have very good communication skills in the Swedish language, both spoken and written. Since assignments may arise at short notice, you need to be flexible, self-driven, and have a good ability to prioritize and plan your work.
