At Gävle municipality's IT and Development Department, we are about 140 employees who work to provide IT solutions tailored to the needs of the operations and to ensure a secure and stable IT environment. Our unit contributes with system development, efficiency improvements, and digitization to several different operations within the entire municipality.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Are you a system developer with a strong interest in databases and want to help develop sustainable, secure, and smart solutions that can be used by many? Then you might be the system developer we are looking for to join our Master Data team.

As a system developer with us, you will work with your colleagues on the entire chain from customer needs, architecture, modeling, as well as new/continued development and implementation of solutions. You will work with both overarching decision-making issues and details, and there are great opportunities to influence the choice of technology, tools, and working methods.

The team, consisting of five people, is constantly working to develop our working methods and our competence, and we think it is important to share our knowledge and be curious about others' knowledge.

Master data within the Gävle municipal group is a complex system that manages a large amount of data from many different sources. It is the hub for our shared information that is used by several operational systems within the municipality. Examples of data managed include employee information, financial information, population data, and property information.

As a system developer with us, you will work with our platform based on .NET and MS-SQL. You will use technologies such as T-SQL and stored procedures to create efficient and scalable solutions.

We work closely with the operations that produce and consume master data to ensure that information management is both secure and efficient for everyone. We are looking for someone who has an interest in both technology and information, where you see opportunities to create benefits throughout the organization.

In addition to your Master Data assignment, you have the opportunity to work on other projects, both individually and together with colleagues.

Our newly renovated premises are located in the Administrative Building in central Gävle, just a stone's throw from both trains and buses. With the train from Uppsala, you can reach Gävle in about 70 minutes, and there are good opportunities for remote work.

QUALIFICATIONS

To succeed in this position, you have a university or college degree in a relevant IT field, or some other similar education that the employer assesses as equivalent. We also see that you have at least three years of experience, after completing your studies, in system development as well as development and design of relational databases.

Good verbal and written skills in the Swedish language are also a requirement.

It is desirable that you also have very good knowledge of MS-SQL, T-SQL, stored procedures, and .NET. Experience working in complex systems with a large amount of data and a large number of data sources is also meritorious. It is also meritorious to have experience working in a similar organization and/or other large and complex organizations.

You are unpretentious and enjoy collaborating - whether it's about bouncing ideas, solving problems together, or helping a colleague move forward. Seeing logic and connections in complex information comes naturally to you, and you think in terms of the whole and quality. Additionally, you are really good at problem-solving and have the ability to develop sustainable and smart solutions. You find it easy to understand the user's needs - even when they are not fully articulated. You ask questions, listen, and develop solutions that provide value.
