The ambulance service has about 160 employees who are primarily responsible for ambulance readiness throughout Kronoberg County with ambulance stations in eight locations. The ambulance in Växjö is responsible for ambulance readiness in Eastern Kronoberg, while the ambulance in Ljungby is responsible for ambulance readiness in Western Kronoberg. The work at the stations in the eastern part of the county includes Växjö, Alvesta, Lenhovda, Hovmantorp, and Tingsryd. In the western part of the county, Ljungby, Älmhult, and Markaryd are included.

Our primary mission is to be available for the approximately 200,000 residents of Kronoberg, but in cases of acute life-threatening conditions, there are no geographical boundaries. We also perform ambulance assignments to hospitals for specialized care in other regions. Additionally, there are two minor care ambulances staffed with specialized nurses whose main task is to carry out planned transports during daytime, Monday to Saturday.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a paramedic, you will take care of individuals of all ages who have suffered from acute illnesses or injuries. The paramedic examines, refers, and treats the patient before and during transport to the hospital or other healthcare facility. We work in teams, and there is always at least one specialized nurse in each ambulance.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are primarily looking for you who are a nurse with specialized training in ambulance care. You who are a specialized nurse in emergency care, anesthesia, or intensive care are also warmly welcome to apply.

Your ability to professionally meet patients and their relatives is something we consider essential.

To be eligible for employment, you must:

• Hold a B driver's license
• Meet the medical requirements necessary for traffic safety to obtain a C1 driver's license. For more information, read on the Swedish Transport Agency's website about medical requirements.
• Pass the ambulance's fitness tests with a satisfactory result.
• Complete a driving test with our internal driving instructors with a satisfactory result.
