Your Mission

As a station engineer, you belong to a unit within the technology department that is responsible for providing FRA with the technical systems needed for operations. The department develops, manages, and implements new technical systems and oversees the operation and maintenance of existing systems.

In the role of station engineer, you will be our central technical resource for the operation, maintenance, and further development of our facilities. The work is characterized by a versatile mission with varying tasks. You will work with systems in electricity, radio, and IT, perform simpler mechanical tasks, be responsible for property services and goods handling, and participate in various projects. You combine knowledge of electrical and radio systems, IT infrastructure, and mechanics, and together with your colleagues, you are the primary contact point for both external suppliers and a range of internal contacts. Your main tasks will primarily include:

• Maintaining and installing hardware and software
• Installation of radio/telecommunication and IT & measurement technology.
• Independently working in and implementing a variety of systems
• Domestic travel may occur in the position.

You Can

We are looking for someone who has:

• Technical education or knowledge acquired through relevant work experience
• Experience in reading and interpreting schematics and block diagrams as well as troubleshooting electronics.
• Measurement technology
• Driving license B
• Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written

We consider it an advantage if you have:

• Knowledge of Linux and Windows
• Experience in troubleshooting IT systems and telecommunication systems
• Knowledge of network environments, AD, as well as experience working with switches, routers, and firewalls
• Knowledge of radio and antenna technology and electronics

The workplace is located in the Gothenburg area. Swedish citizenship is a requirement as employment at FRA involves placement in a security class. A requirement for employment is a successful security screening with a background check. The security screening will be conducted in accordance with the provisions of the Security Protection Act.
