Economist with experience in non-banks wanted

Are you a knowledgeable economist with experience and knowledge of non-banks, such as funds and insurance companies, as well as data-driven analysis? Do you want to contribute to analysis and policy positions regarding these financial actors? Then this is the job for you.

This is what you will do

The Financial Stability Department conducts analysis and develops policy messages aimed at improving financial stability in Sweden. An important part of your portfolio will be to develop analysis and identify how different actors impact and are interconnected with the financial system. You will particularly focus on risks related to non-banks and financial markets.

You will work with analyses, prepare materials, and support the department and management in the issues you work on, including in preparation for international meetings. Depending on your knowledge and experience, there is also the possibility to participate in the bank's cross-functional work with data processing.

Your team

The Financial Linkages Unit is one of four units in the Financial Stability Department and consists of just over ten employees. The unit's mission includes analyzing linkages in the financial system, focusing on non-banks and the functioning of key financial markets. The unit also has responsibilities within the framework of the Riksbank's role as a liquidity provider in crises and a broad international effort, including within the framework of the European Systemic Risk Board (ESRB).

More about you

We are looking for someone with several years of relevant work experience in analyzing non-banks, such as funds and insurance companies, and the markets in which they operate. You have a bachelor's degree or higher in economics, financial economics, or another equivalent education from a university or college. It is an advantage if you have worked with policy and regulatory issues related to funds and/or insurance companies. You are good at and comfortable with analyzing and managing data. If you have experience in programming in Python and can handle large datasets, this is an advantage. Experience with model work or stress testing is also an advantage. We expect you to express yourself well in both Swedish and English, both verbally and in writing.

Regarding your personal qualities, we place great importance on you being a genuine team player with good collaboration skills, high initiative, sound judgment, and flexibility that enables you to work in a changing environment. You have a well-developed analytical ability, both numerical and linguistic.

More about the position

Start date: As soon as possible/spring 2026
Employment type: Permanent employment, probationary period may apply
Location: Headquarters at Brunkebergstorg and Klara in central Stockholm
Working hours: Trust-based working hours
Possibility to work remotely: 1 or 2 days a week

The position may be classified in a security class and a security check including a background check, security interview, and special personal investigation will be conducted for the final candidate. For certain positions, Swedish citizenship is required.
