Electrification, energy transition, and a common European electricity market mean that Svenska kraftnät is facing a historic expansion of the transmission network. At the same time, many lines and stations are approaching the end of their technical lifespan and need to be renewed. In the coming decade, Svenska kraftnät will procure a significant number of large and medium-sized contracts.

Svenska kraftnät is now looking for a lawyer with experience in construction and consultancy law, as well as some experience and interest in procurement law. Take the chance and apply to one of Sweden's most important and exciting workplaces!

About the position

The position primarily involves working with the construction contracts available in the market, adapting standard agreements to the needs of the business. However, there is also a need to handle other commercial agreements for investment in and management of the transmission network. The work is carried out in close collaboration with both purchasing and project operations. There is a particular need for expertise in FIDIC contracts and experience working with such agreements. It is also advantageous if you have experience handling practical issues related to public procurement. The work may also include dealing with other types of supplier agreements and other legal areas.

Your tasks

Six legal advisors currently work to support the business with legal advice regarding procurement and supplier agreements. We now need to strengthen our team with an additional qualified legal advisor focusing on construction and other similar commercial agreements. The role includes, among other things;

• providing legal support in the drafting and procurement of commercial agreements with suppliers for investments in the transmission network,
• providing legal support in ongoing construction projects, including advice and participation in negotiations with suppliers,
• contributing to the development of templates and processes to streamline operations in procurement and contract management of construction projects.

Svenska kraftnät has three units with lawyers. The units contribute, together with the chief legal officer, to ensuring that Svenska kraftnät's operations comply with relevant legislation and proactively guide the business regarding its legal conditions. The units currently consist of over 30 experienced legal advisors working independently across a wide range of legal areas. The business is growing, and recruitment of additional lawyers in other areas is ongoing.

The position is a permanent employment and is located at our headquarters in Sundbyberg or in Gothenburg.

You are self-driven and take responsibility for your tasks and can independently drive your issues forward. In the role, it is also important that you have high integrity, good judgment, and are solution-oriented, thus having the ability to find suitable solutions for the issues that arise in the business. We place great emphasis on your personal qualities.

Education:

You should have a Swedish law degree or equivalent.

You also have the following:

• At least five years of relevant legal work experience from courts, municipalities, government agencies, law firms, companies, or other organizations.
• At least three years of experience in qualified legal work with commercial agreements regarding construction, purchase of goods and services (e.g., AB 04/ABT 06, ABM 07, ABK 09), or other industrial goods or supply agreements (such as NL, Orgalime, NLM, FIDIC, etc.).
• Very good knowledge of Swedish and English in both spoken and written form.

Meritorious:

• Experience working with FIDIC standard agreements and drafting/negotiate agreements that relate to any of these standard agreements.
• Experience in public procurement.

Good to know

• The position is located in Sundbyberg or Gothenburg.
• Travel may occur to a limited extent.
• Possibility for remote work up to 50%, when work allows.
