About the Workplace

The position of digitalization strategist is based within the digitalization unit.

A standalone unit within the finance department of the municipal management administration that works cross-functionally across the entire organization and whose purpose is to facilitate and drive Ale Municipality's digital development forward. It is a creative and highly competent unit with wonderful colleagues. There is great freedom under responsibility. One of the municipality's three directional goals is "continuous improvements," which permeates the entire organization, focusing on how we can become a more efficient organization and increase the utility and quality of the services we provide to residents, businesses, and others who live and operate in the municipality.

Job Responsibilities

As a digitalization strategist, you have a coordinating and key role in strengthening the digital development within Ale Municipality. As a digitalization strategist, you lead, coordinate, and drive the municipality's digital development together with your colleagues in the digitalization unit. This involves capturing, preparing, and prioritizing project ideas related to digitalization with a long-term perspective and in close dialogue with all operations.

You monitor the external environment and network to keep the municipality updated on developments in the field. You identify suitable collaboration partners and contribute to maintaining a high level of competence in the area of digitalization. Driving overarching prioritized assignments and projects, as well as contributing to the development of governing documents, is also part of the job. You should also be able to act as a project manager if needed.

The role involves collaborating with staff throughout the municipality, both in operational work and in cross-municipal development work. Examples of this include initiating and being responsible for competency development initiatives and matters related to AI.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with an academic degree in a relevant field and documented experience in project and process management.

You have several years of experience in business development supported by digitalization, preferably within the public sector. You are accustomed to leading and coaching, as well as handling challenges and opportunities in business development where IT and digitalization are natural factors.

Furthermore, we would like you to have experience in data-driven work, change management, and an understanding of how the needs of the business, appropriate technical choices, efficiency, and the value of continuous improvements contribute to Ale Municipality's digital development. It is important to understand the whole and how the steps and priorities fit into it. As a digitalization strategist, you work to identify and map needs, analyze, evaluate, and coordinate requirements for our digital solutions. The results of your work will be innovative digital solutions that generate benefits and improvements.

As a person, you are self-driven and proactive while collaborating well with others. You are clear and pedagogical in your leadership and enjoy working systematically towards goals and results. With the ability to see the big picture, you drive strategic development issues forward.
