The Social Care Administration in Borås City is responsible for the municipality's disability services, social psychiatry, and health and medical care interventions for the mentioned target groups. With approximately 1000 employees and 45 managers, we continuously work to improve the quality of our services for those we serve.

Now you have the opportunity to help develop the pedagogical work within housing support. The area of operations also includes personal assistance, respite care, contact persons, and escort services (AKL), meeting places, and short-term activities.

The housing support is now seeking an additional support pedagogue to work more actively with measures based on the future social services while we see that the unit is growing. The support pedagogue's work includes supporting colleagues in using relevant methods to develop the individual's participation and independence. The support pedagogue has in-depth knowledge and supports/guides colleagues in working with implementation plans, documentation, job descriptions, and follow-up of goals. The support pedagogue should, if necessary, assist colleagues with adapting the individual's activities at home, as well as with contacts and collaboration with relatives/guardians and other networks. The work also includes being a support to the manager in dealing with deviations and other parts of the systematic quality work.

The support pedagogue's responsibility is to develop and drive the pedagogical work in the organization together with colleagues and the unit manager. This responsibility includes seeking, gathering, and disseminating new knowledge about pedagogical methods in the organization. The support pedagogue initiates, together with colleagues, the need for professional development. The support pedagogue will be part of a network with the administration's other pedagogues.

The support measures should promote the individual's integrity and participation and be carried out with respect for the individual's self-determination. The individual should receive support and the right to decide over their life and develop their abilities to live as independently as possible. Observation and mapping of needs, implementation plans, documentation, and follow-up of individual goals are the foundation of the staff's work.

The support pedagogue has knowledge of methods such as: clarifying pedagogy, alternative and augmentative communication (AAC), low-arousal approach, motivational interviewing, sensory stimulation, and adaptation of physical and mental environments.

The work is performed in housing support, but it may be necessary to provide support in other units in the area of operations as needed.

We are looking for someone with a post-secondary education that includes at least 200 YH credits or 60 university credits or other education or experience that the employer deems equivalent. This education should have a clear focus on the disability area. For the position, it is required that you have knowledge of Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC) and clarifying pedagogy.

Experience working in disability services and/or psychiatry is a requirement. Knowledge of housing support is highly meritorious for this position. Knowledge of the methods Motivational Interviewing (MI) and A Self-Sufficient Life (ESL) is also meritorious.

A driver's license is a requirement.
