Our municipality, and thus our operations, is growing and we need more educators.
We are now looking for special teachers with a focus on reading and writing development and/or mathematics for Ånge primary school for the spring term of 2026. In the education administration, we work according to a common thread, a shared view of development and learning with a democratic value base in all our operations. In Ånge municipality, we train all our staff in neuropsychiatric disabilities (NPF) to ensure our operations are NPF-safe, we train all staff in mental training as well as in what a language and knowledge-developing approach (SKUA) is and entails.
Ånge primary school consists of three properties but is one school, Björken (F/Fsk, grades 1-5), Ugglan (grades 6-9), and Ånge resource school. Ånge primary school currently has about 370 students. The principals have a common ambition to lead and distribute work at the schools based on trust and confidence. The school's motto is, "Health and learning go hand in hand". We have high expectations of ourselves as well as of each employee. Ånge primary school is organized with teaching teachers, playground teachers, and a student health team. The school's student health team includes counselors, school nurses, special teachers, special educators, career counselors, and principals, and we also have access to a school psychologist, school doctor, and speech therapist. Each week, the student health team participates in student health meetings (EHM) with the working teams as well as in student health team meetings (EHT). We collaborate with Social Services, the child and youth entrance, Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (BUP), Habilitation, health centers, police, and others. The school is located in Ånge center, which means we have walking distance to an ice rink, football fields, athletics track, riding school, disc golf, outdoor gym, multi-sport arena, gym, illuminated trails, forest, green areas, hiking trails, swimming area, library, community house/citizen house with a cinema, theater workshop, music school/culture school, municipal house, train and bus station, several shops, restaurants, and cafes. We have good collaboration opportunities with the business community and associations. We have good commuting options by train from both Östersund and Sundsvall, with walking distance to the school. Your employment is within education in Ånge municipality.
Job Responsibilities
You will be part of a special teacher team where you guide teachers who teach students with difficulties, which means close collaboration with regular teachers, other professionals within student health, and guardians. As a special teacher, you work operationally directly with the student in the learning situation, which can be individual teaching or support in the regular classroom. You analyze students' results and development opportunities from the perspectives of favorable learning environments and a sustainable future for the individual. You take a critical and independent initiative to analyze and participate in preventive work and school development. As a special teacher, you, together with other special teachers, are responsible for ensuring that Ånge municipality's screening plan is followed to prevent, detect, and meet language, reading, and writing difficulties as well as mathematics difficulties. The special teachers are part of a collaboration group together with other special teachers in the municipality.
We offer a permanent position at 100%. A probationary period may apply. We are looking for someone who is a licensed special teacher in reading and writing development and/or in mathematics. You have a low-arousal approach and a good ability to create good relationships with both students, guardians, colleagues, and management. You have good problem-solving skills, collaboration skills, and social competence; you are flexible and loyal. Based on trust-based governance and leadership, we expect you to take personal responsibility within given frameworks. You work for predictability, clarity, security, and participation. You are convinced that the quality of teaching makes a difference and that teaching therefore needs to be differentiated so that all students can achieve as far as possible in their learning.
