The Fire Service is part of Luleå Municipality and has the mission to ensure that people living and working in Luleå are safe and secure. At the Fire Service, we have about 100 employees; firefighters, fire engineers, fire inspectors, and administrators.
We are looking for a person who wants to help develop the fire service in one of Sweden's most expansive municipalities by strengthening our section for regulatory activities.

Job responsibilities and descriptionAs a fire engineer/fire inspector in the regulatory section, you will primarily work with the fire service's regulatory activities - inspection activities - but also provide information to the public, advice, project work, and sometimes training initiatives. The assignment may also include providing opinions regarding other authorities' permits, e.g., for events, alcohol permits, and other municipal administrations regarding opinions on detailed plans and building permits.
You will be responsible for planning, implementing, and following up on inspections according to the Act on Protection Against Accidents and possibly the Act on Flammable and Explosive Goods (after individual assessment of suitability). You may also be assigned to independently or as part of a team conduct and participate in various projects. Other tasks may include providing information and advice to the public as well as contacts with other authorities.

Requirements for the position
- Post-secondary education
- Good IT skills
- Basic knowledge of programs such as PowerPoint, Excel, Office.
- Fluent in Swedish, both spoken and written
- Driver's license, class B.
Meritorious
- Fire engineer, fire inspector, risk engineer, building engineer, or other accident prevention education deemed equivalent by the employer
- The above-mentioned meritorious backgrounds do not exclude suitable candidates with previous work experience in other fire service activities, planning and building permit processes, other review activities, law, project planning, or similar
- Experience in advisory and/or customer contact roles
Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
Scope of employment
Employment form: Temporary, Scope: Full-time
The scope is full-time but negotiable. Start date is according to agreement, preferably as soon as possible.
Time-limited until: Temporary position for about 1 year, with the possibility of extension.
