About the Workplace

Are you ready for a bigger task?

The Swedish Police Authority is Sweden's largest authority with approximately 40,000 employees across the country. Here, you have the opportunity to contribute to the Police's mission – to increase safety and reduce crime in society.

The Norrbotten Police Area is Sweden's largest and northernmost region and is one of the police areas in the North region. The geographical area spans 14 municipalities – from Arvidsjaur municipality in the south to Kiruna municipality in the north.

The Norrbotten Police Area is divided into four local police areas: Luleå/Boden, Northern Lapland, Piteå/Älvdal, and Eastern Norrbotten. At the police area level, there is also an investigation section, an intervention group, and a dog unit. Furthermore, there is a police area administration office.

The Local Police Area Piteå Älvdal is part of the Norrbotten Police Area. Within the local police area, there are intervention and crime prevention activities, an investigation group, as well as support and service.

We are now looking for detention guards who will also work as multi-handlers in Piteå.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The main task, which will be shared with all multi-handlers, will be to work in our detention center by receiving and managing individuals who are deprived of their liberty and being the primary contact during their time in the detention facility. Many are deprived of their liberty for the purpose of investigating crimes, but it can also involve shorter detentions due to, for example, intoxication. The assignment will be broad and cover many of our different areas of activity. Together with other multi-handlers, you will receive assignments such as simpler investigative measures in the detention center as well as other commonly occurring administrative tasks.

In addition to the above tasks, you may also perform other tasks within internal and external service as needed, such as work against the police's service office and report taking, which includes citizen service and administration. Snow shoveling, tire changes on service vehicles, and other practical tasks may also be relevant, which requires you to be practically inclined. You will receive training in the tasks you are expected to perform. The pace of work varies based on the tasks, and the work can be physically demanding.

Your primary placement will be in Piteå, but work in other locations within the county may occur.
