Temporary Building Inspector

The Environmental and Building Department is an authority with a broad field of work. We are responsible for work within a range of legislations such as the Planning and Building Act (PBL), where we handle building permits and supervision, as well as the Environmental Code, where we monitor noise levels in schools and emissions from factories. The department works with pedagogical and promoting authority exercise, and our guiding principles are that it should be easy to do the right thing; together we take responsibility for a sustainable future.

The department is divided into four sections, and you will belong to the Building section, specifically the supervision inspector team. The team is responsible for supervision according to PBL and the National Board of Housing, Building and Planning's building regulations (BBR).

JOB DESCRIPTION

As a building inspector, you will work both independently and in close collaboration with an engaged team. Your tasks include:

Conducting technical consultations and final consultations
Performing site visits
Providing service and advice to our clients
Ensuring that the construction process complies with applicable laws and regulations

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who:

Has a degree as a building inspector, building permit officer, legal expert, engineer in building technology/community planning, or other equivalent education/experience
Has good legal knowledge of PBL, BBR, and associated regulations
Is structured, quality-conscious, and customer-oriented
Has good communication skills in speech and writing
Has a positive and solution-oriented attitude
Understands the importance of careful administrative handling in authority decisions

A driving license (B) is required.

The position is a temporary position from January to October 2026.
