The Police Region East is organized into three police areas: Södermanland, Östergötland, and Jönköping, which are further divided into nine local police areas. Additionally, there are three regional units: the operational unit, the investigation unit, and the intelligence unit, a regional office, and national departments represented in the region to support police operations.
The mission of the operational unit is to actively support local police areas, police areas, and units in their core mission. This is done by developing and providing specialist capabilities that enhance operational effectiveness in addressing the region's issues. With specialist competence, high service, and good collaboration, the operational unit is an important part of the operational and crime-fighting efforts in Region East.
The Police Contact Center (PKC) in Region East has the task of being the first step in an effective and quality-assured crime investigation process, focusing on crime resolution and victim interaction. The Police Contact Center is currently tasked with receiving reports, tips, and providing information to the public. Furthermore, the Police Contact Center is a crucial part of the initial investigation process and in the police's work to solve crimes.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
In the role of investigator, you are responsible for handling the investigation group's crime investigations. Your work includes:
- Conducting interviews with victims, witnesses, and possibly suspects in the future
- Handling cases in various crime categories
- Creating documentation for further decisions in preliminary investigations
- Critically evaluating information from multiple sources, assessing relationships between variables, and drawing conclusions
- Securing supporting evidence based on crime elements in cases
- Gathering, reviewing, and documenting surveillance footage
- Participating in various collaboration meetings as a representative for PKC East
We hope you will contribute to the development of the investigation group's methodology and work towards achieving our goals.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone who has:
- A university degree, police exam, or other relevant work experience as assessed by the employer.
- Experience in conducting interviews and other parts of the investigative task
- Good computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office and our police systems
- Very good ability to express oneself in Swedish and English, both verbally and in writing
It is advantageous if you have:
- Completed the Crime Investigator Program for police employees
- Experience in working with fraud, economic crime, or equivalent
- Experience working with large data sets in, for example, Excel
- Experience interpreting and applying laws

Working hours: Scheduled 5:2
Start date: If you are selected for the position, a dialogue will be held between the releasing and receiving manager on how and when the placement will be carried out.
Duration: Permanent employment with a six-month probationary period
