About Us

Thoraxcentrum at Blekingesjukhuset was established in 2007 to consolidate all cardiac care and thoracic surgery under one leadership.

The mission is to provide the residents of Region Blekinge, Kronoberg, and to some extent Skåne with access to quality cardiological care as well as highly specialized cardiology, which includes heart and lung surgery, invasive electrophysiology and ablations, pacemakers, ICD/CRT, invasive cardiology/PCI, and TAVI. The catchment area for the highly specialized care corresponds to approximately 330,000 inhabitants.

All activities are characterized by close collaboration between cardiologists, interventionists, thoracic surgeons, and thoracic anesthesiologists with short decision-making paths in a very stimulating multidisciplinary environment. Full responsibility exists around the clock for coronary angiography/PCI treatment as well as for thoracic surgery.

Thoraxcentrum has about 250 employees distributed across admission units, care departments, outpatient services, surgical operations, intensive care units, and radiology departments. Our goal is to provide the best possible cardiac care with individual opportunities for skill enhancement and development, as well as the opportunity to conduct research. We actively work on evaluating the clinic's patient processes and flows to best offer personalized care.

About the Job

We are now looking for a specialist physician in Cardiology for our operations in Karlshamn. The work in Karlshamn is planned for daytime and is directed towards our outpatient and clinical physiology services, where close collaboration occurs with our skilled cardiac nurses, administrative staff, and BMA. If desired, working hours can also be allocated in Karlskrona, where participation in on-call activities is possible.

Some supervision of ST and AT doctors may occur in the position.

About You

You should be a licensed physician and a specialist in Cardiology. An interest in working with clinical trials is appreciated.

As a person, you are structured, responsible, and have good collaboration and communication skills. We also see that you function well as a knowledge resource for others.

Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.
