As the LARO care option according to the Act on Freedom of Choice (LOV) ends on April 30, 2026, the Adult Psychiatry Department in Kristianstad is opening a new clinic in Hässleholm. We are now looking for a nursing assistant who wants to join us in starting the new LARO clinic!

LARO (medication-assisted rehabilitation for opioid dependence) aims to prevent relapse, improve social functioning, and reduce medical complications, transmission of infections, and mortality. The treatment is individually tailored and is based on the patient's needs, respecting the patient's autonomy and integrity.

The Adult Psychiatry Clinic LARO in Hässleholm operates according to the National Board of Health and Welfare's guidelines and has a mandate that includes a comprehensive medical commitment for patients with long-term opioid dependence. Here, we work with medical treatment, counseling, care coordination and planning, psychological testing and assessment, as well as basic somatic care related to substance abuse, harmful use, and dependency issues. According to the National Board of Health and Welfare's guidelines, treatment is also available for individuals with long-term pain issues. The clinic will employ nurses, social workers, psychologists, medical secretaries, and specialist doctors.

The Adult Psychiatry Department in Kristianstad has about 400 employees, characterized by proximity and short decision-making paths despite a large geographical area. Collaboration and cooperation internally within the department as well as externally with other healthcare providers, municipalities, and user organizations are well-functioning and prioritized.

JOB DESCRIPTION

As a nursing assistant, you are part of the team and, together with specialist doctors, are responsible for your patients' care and treatment. In addition to pharmacological treatment, we work with motivational interviewing, relapse prevention, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and group treatments based on the patients' needs. We collaborate with various actors in psychiatric and somatic care and view cooperation with social services, the correctional service, the social insurance agency, and the employment agency as a prerequisite for meeting the patients' needs.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is a trained nursing assistant or a specialist nursing assistant in psychiatry. This means you have an approved upper secondary education in health and social care (2500 points), an approved health and social care education through adult education (minimum 1350 points), or another equivalent nursing assistant education. Since the work largely involves communication and documentation, good language skills in Swedish, both spoken and written, are a requirement. You also master basic medical technical procedures at the nursing assistant level.

Applicants who currently hold a permanent position with the job title caregiver can apply and will retain their job title upon possible employment (but no longer than until 2033 when the title caregiver will cease to exist within our operations).

We would like you to have experience working as a caregiver and/or nursing assistant. Experience working in psychiatry or with patients with mental health issues is an advantage. If you also have experience working at a LARO clinic, that is a merit. Additionally, good computer skills and basic knowledge of our journal system Melior are beneficial.

You have a genuine interest in psychiatric care and always put the patient first. Furthermore, you have good prioritization skills and contribute to a good work environment. For the role, it is important to remain calm and have a low-arousal approach in stressful situations; therefore, we are looking for someone who is secure and stable as a person. With a high sense of service and responsibility, as well as good collaboration skills, you humbly meet the situation that the patient and their relatives are facing. Additionally, you enjoy mentoring students and feel secure in that role. We are keen to find the right people and therefore place great importance on personal suitability.

Attach your nursing assistant certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare if you have received it or your diploma with your application. If you have not yet received the certificate, you will be given the title of care assistant in the meantime. If you were permanently employed as a nursing assistant on July 1, 2023, or if you wish to retain the job title caregiver and were employed as such before November 1, 2023, please submit a certificate that verifies this.
