We are now looking for a junior doctor with an interest in geriatrics for our geriatric care unit. Here you will have a truly meaningful job! The position is a full-time temporary position from 2026-02-01 to 2026-10-31.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The mission of the geriatrics department is to provide medical and rehabilitative treatment to elderly patients in the region. As a junior doctor with us, you will collaborate with other doctors, nurses, nursing assistants, as well as physiotherapists and occupational therapists. Collaboration also occurs with other healthcare providers and agencies. The work is varied, challenges ways of thinking, and allows space for new ideas that help our elderly patients have a better daily life.

Your main responsibilities

• conduct admissions and discharges
• clean medication lists
• round, be responsible for the care team, and be available for other professionals
• have conversations with patients and relatives.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is confident in their role as a junior doctor and who, with good initiative, takes responsibility for driving the work forward. You are flexible and can easily adapt when circumstances change, while also seeing opportunities and finding solutions to problems that arise in everyday life. Your humility allows you to meet patients, relatives, and colleagues with respect and attentiveness, contributing to a good work environment. With your strong collaborative skills, you work closely with colleagues from various professional categories and ensure that all parts of the care chain work well together. By combining initiative with a problem-solving approach, you will become an important part of the team and in the long-term work of developing care.

In the role of junior doctor, you should

• have completed semester 9 of the medical program
• be able to communicate in Swedish in both spoken and written form at least at C1 level.

Experience working within the Swedish healthcare system and clinical experience with elderly and multi-sick patients is advantageous.
