ST Physician in Internal Medicine at Hudiksvall Hospital

The internal medicine department at Hudiksvall Hospital has a broad mandate and provides care for patients with all types of internal medicine conditions. The geographical catchment area is large, and the department therefore has a significant emergency duty as well as a well-equipped outpatient service with clinics, day care, dialysis clinic, and clinical physiology lab. Internal medicine and cardiology share two wards with a total of approximately 50 beds, including dedicated stroke and cardiac intensive care beds. We have good staffing within our subspecialties, and we maintain a very good collaborative climate with short communication paths, strong cohesion, and good forums for discussions.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The position includes a broad internal medicine training that makes you competent to manage all common internal medicine conditions and also helps you feel secure in your role as a specialist. During your residency, you will also have the opportunity to deepen your knowledge in a future subspecialty. Internal medicine has a good educational climate and invests in the professional development of residents, and just like the specialists in the clinic, we see the education of residents as a given, and we also recognize that residents play an important role in the education and supervision of junior doctors and temporary physicians. If you are interested in education or research, there are good opportunities to engage further.

The content and duration of the residency will be planned according to the National Board of Health and Welfare's regulations, the physician's specialization training, and in consultation with supervisors, study directors, and the department head.

QUALIFICATIONS

In the role of a resident in internal medicine, you will mostly work independently under supervision. You will also, especially during on-call hours, often be the highest medical competence on site, which requires you to have a good ability to collaborate with others and be attentive and communicative. You have the ability to understand someone else's perspective or situation, are structured, and take responsibility for your own tasks while also driving your work forward. Furthermore, you are flexible and easily adapt to changing circumstances and see opportunities in changes.

As a resident, you should have:

• Swedish medical license issued by the National Board of Health and Welfare
• good knowledge of the Swedish language both orally and in writing.

For this position, it is advantageous if you have previous experience of clinical work in internal medicine or cardiology. Experience working at Hudiksvall Hospital is also an advantage.
