Team Player for the Procurement Center

We at the Procurement Center enjoy being involved in influencing which toys children play with, which vehicles are used to maintain the municipality's streets, and what food the elderly in our care facilities get to eat. We truly believe that the work we do matters. For real.

Who wouldn’t want to see the statistics showing reduced environmental impact thanks to fairer products? Who wouldn’t want to contribute to smarter purchases that allow municipalities to allocate more money where it is truly needed? Who wouldn’t want to hear about the person who got their first permanent job thanks to the internship we helped arrange? Who wouldn’t want to feel pride that the control carried out countered welfare fraud or ensured that fair working conditions are actually upheld?

We are now looking for you who want to work on developing sustainable procurements for our member municipalities – a role where you combine business acumen with social benefit. The reward will be a sense of contributing to something, not just today, but in the future. This makes it feel fun and meaningful to go to work!

About Us

The Procurement Center conducts procurements and contract management for seven municipalities in Dalarna (Falun, Borlänge, Avesta, Ludvika, Gagnef, Hedemora, Säter). Initially, we were 13 people, but today we are twice as many. We have offices in all locations involved in our collaboration, and the head office is located in Ludvika. The opportunity to work some time remotely is a given for us. We started that journey even before the pandemic came.

We work according to our core values, Team Spirit. The keywords relationships, learning, joy, and drive fit us well and are important to keep in mind when meeting both colleagues, experts, suppliers, and our collaborating municipalities. This is also reflected in our latest employee survey, where the results show that we enjoy our work, feel motivated, and experience a good work-life balance.

We are organized into three units at the Procurement Center; Goods and Services (VoT), Community Building and IT (SamIT), and Purchasing and Operational Support (InVe). We are now looking for a driven purchaser for the Goods and Services unit, a colleague to welcome into our community!

Since we procure everything from banking services, food transport, training, rental machines, accommodation places, window cleaning, toys, and food, we gain a broad general knowledge as a bonus. Sometimes we need to think and solve problems together, and there are helpful colleagues who support when difficulties arise. Additionally, ongoing professional development is offered, both internally with us and through specific training plans for each employee.

Qualifications

To thrive here, you likely need that drive to want to make the world better through smart and sustainable business practices. You must be meticulous and skilled in written and verbal communication with a good habit of working in the Office suite, as there are many long documents to be produced.

You also need to be able to handle different opinions and ambitions, which requires attentiveness, the ability to make independent decisions, and good collaboration skills from you as the upcoming project manager in both procurements and contract follow-ups.

In addition, we consider it an advantage if you have a university degree, preferably in economics, law, or other education or experience deemed equivalent. If you have worked as a purchaser and/or in areas that the unit is responsible for, it is an advantage.

What You Get from Us!

In addition to working on exciting issues in a varied everyday life, you will have the opportunity to become part of an organization that maintains important community functions for residents in Ludvika municipality. As an employee with us, you will have access to wellness benefits, good opportunities for professional development, and the option to exchange vacation day allowances. In Ludvika municipality, we work according to our core values, Team Spirit, which consists of four principles: Relationships, Joy, Learning, and Drive. It is with Team Spirit that we take on our mission and strive towards our vision of being the municipality of the future, growth, and opportunities.
