Västerskolan is a F-3 school located in Knislinge. Our after-school program has four departments: Korallen, Delfinen, Hajen, and Morkullan. At the school, we actively work to develop the operations in various ways, including preventive and promotional work based on Västerskolan's vision and pedagogical platform - Communication as the Path to Learning. Communication, Context, Expectations, Motivation, and Challenge are the five words that form the foundation of Västerskolan's pedagogical platform.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We want you to share our view that student participation and understanding of what is to be learned is important and that it motivates and encourages responsibility among our students. You will work in a team where the school and after-school program together are responsible for the students.

During the current school year, the focus will be on being a resource and supporting students during the school day, as well as being responsible for after-school activities after school hours. In the coming school year, there may be other tasks performed during the school day as a complement to the after-school program.

Eventually, the position may include coordination responsibilities for the after-school program.

QUALIFICATIONS

We want you to be an educated teacher in after-school programs, leisure pedagogy, or a primary school teacher with a license to teach in after-school programs, or have an education/competence that the employer deems suitable for the position.

The teaching in the after-school program is adapted to the needs of the group, and together with the others in the team, you will plan for increased goal fulfillment. Teaching during school hours should be adapted based on each student's conditions, and lessons should be characterized by clear expectations, a conducive working environment, and a desire to learn.

It is a requirement that you are well acquainted with and adhere to the ethical principles for teachers, as well as being well-versed in the primary school curriculum and have the ability to implement this in practice. As an educator, you have good didactic skills and the ability to stimulate students in their development, as well as the ability to adapt the educational activities to each student's conditions and needs. It is a significant advantage if you have experience working in a team.

As a person, you have good self-awareness and high personal maturity. You are accustomed to and enjoy taking clear leadership. You are calm and secure as a person, which allows you to handle changing situations and sudden occurrences; when this happens, you work to resolve the situation in a methodical and structured way. Furthermore, you have the ability to independently and collaboratively with colleagues structure, plan, and prioritize your work, and you take personal responsibility for improving it. You enjoy working in teams and highly value collegial learning. Systematic quality work is essential, and you carry this out together with your colleagues.

We also believe that you have a professional demeanor in your interactions with students, colleagues, and guardians while being attentive and patient.

You have good knowledge of the Swedish language in both spoken and written forms. It is important that you are computer literate and have the ability to integrate technology and digital tools into teaching.

A criminal record extract for schools and preschools must be presented before employment can be offered.
