Job Responsibilities

We are looking for an educator who will work closely with other colleagues to support students with neuropsychiatric disabilities. We seek someone who wants to help develop the educational work for all our students. You will work in a team where you will together support students in a special education group or provide additional support to students who can participate in regular classes.

After school hours, you will work with the students in the after-school program where they are offered a meaningful leisure time/LSS. You will work closely with the school's EHT team and receive support in various situations regarding creating an accessible learning environment for all students so that they can develop as much as possible.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has at least 120 higher education credits relevant to the school's needs and assignments according to the curriculum in pedagogy and for example drama, gender studies, media studies, health, natural sciences, and languages. If you have experience working as an educator or from a similar role previously, it is an advantage. To succeed in your role, you need to have a good understanding and knowledge of the school's governing documents and the ability to apply them in daily work, as well as knowledge of digital tools.

We are looking for someone who has experience working closely with children and young people with neuropsychiatric disabilities.

You are engaged, flexible, and have excellent collaboration skills along with a solution-focused and inclusive approach. As a person, you are secure and calm in various situations, and your patience is very high. You have a low-arousal approach and experience in managing emotional outbursts and outwardly aggressive behavior. You are creative and have the ability to inspire and encourage students to participate, as well as a strong belief that all students can develop and learn. You are particularly skilled at building good relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues. Personal suitability is of great importance.

About the Workplace

Stenkulaskolan is a K-9 school with approximately 465 students. Starting in the school year 25/26, Stenkulaskolan will have the opportunity to start a resource school for students in grades 1-9 where we will actively work to ensure that all students are included according to their abilities. This means that all staff need to be open to changing their approach and teaching to create the best possible inclusive learning environment characterized by a strong belief that all students want to learn. Stenkulaskolan is also Malmö's alternative for students with hearing impairments, who are fully included in regular teaching groups.

The above conditions allow for smaller class sizes/teaching groups in the school to create the right learning environment for each student.
