About the Workplace

Solkattens preschool is located in the heart of Malmö, right next to Folkets Park, with its own safe rooftop garden free from traffic and noise. In the same building, there are two other preschools, Edens and Möllevångens preschool, and we work together with openings and closings. In our bright premises, there are three departments, two for younger children and one for older children, as well as a small preschool library. With our cargo bikes, we explore the city's cultural offerings and themed playgrounds.

We work exploratively and project-oriented based on the children's own interests and ideas – to create an educational, creative, and playful everyday life where every child can grow and feel involved.

Job Responsibilities

At our preschools, you will develop in your role as a preschool teacher. Here, you work to create a safe, fun, and educational preschool. You lead and develop the educational activities together with the rest of the team. You have a special responsibility for teaching and work with the curriculum as a basis based on each child's knowledge, experiences, and specific conditions. All preschool teachers in Malmö city have scheduled time (5 hours/week) for reflection, documentation, and learning with colleagues.

Qualifications

We are looking for a driven, present preschool teacher who always puts children's learning and development in focus.

It is important for us that you have a good ability to translate the content of the preschool curriculum into your role as a preschool teacher. We also want you to have competence and experience in language development, multiculturalism, and interculturalism. You care about children's participation and influence by using listening pedagogy. We would like you to have experience working with children in need of special support.

Pedagogical documentation is an important working tool for you, and you value the significance of the environment and materials for children's learning. You are engaged, responsible, and willing to drive both your own and the preschool's development forward. We would like you to be a playful, co-researching, creative, and curious educator interested in working project-oriented with pedagogical documentation as a tool.

You are interested in collaborating across team boundaries and sharing your knowledge and experience with colleagues. You work for good relationships with guardians as well as colleagues.

We want you to contribute with engagement, creativity, and a drive to develop the operations. You meet every child with respect and attentiveness. Of course, you have a professional attitude and work for good relationships with guardians and colleagues. You need to have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.

To be permanently employed as a preschool teacher, a preschool teacher's license is required, according to the Education Act.
