Substitute Teacher in the School Administration

We are now looking for you who can start working as a substitute teacher in the School Administration.

We offer you a varied job with many new meetings. Above all, you will have a meaningful job where you can develop and make a difference for our students. The staffing unit provides substitutes to the municipal primary schools, adapted schools, and cultural schools in Gothenburg. The operations are divided into four geographical areas, and as a substitute, you will work where the need is.

In the role of a substitute teacher, you are an important part of the students' everyday life and learning. You replace regular staff during absences and support students in their schooling. The work involves both responsibility and variation, but also great joy when you see students develop and succeed.

Substitute Teacher in Primary School

In primary school, work is offered in the following positions:

  • Teacher: You teach a full class in various subjects (grades F–6) or in specific subjects (grades 7–9). Your task is to conduct teaching to contribute to the students' knowledge development.
  • Teacher in After-School Care: You work with students in after-school care (grades F-6) before the school day starts and after the school day ends. During school hours, you are in the classroom supporting the regular teacher.
  • Student Assistant: You work with students in need of special support both inside and outside the classroom. This may involve reading and writing difficulties or various types of disabilities.

Adapted Primary School

In the adapted primary school, students with intellectual disabilities attend. As a substitute, you assist students in need of special support. This means you help them with their studies and provide support for them inside and outside the classroom.

Cultural School

The cultural school offers artistic and educational activities for children and young people (6–19 years) in Gothenburg. Working hours can be during the day, afternoon, evening, weekends, or during school breaks.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a genuine interest in working with children and young people. Regardless of which area you want to work in, you are expected to be a good role model, meet students at their level, and act in a low-affect manner. Relevant education and/or work experience is an advantage. Swedish is the common working language in our schools, so you need to have good language skills in both spoken and written Swedish. You have good basic knowledge of digital tools and can quickly learn our and the operations' systems.

What We Expect from You:

  • You are responsible for indicating your availability in our booking system, including which days and times you can work. You should be available to work with us at least 2 days a week. On the days you have made yourself available, we expect you to be able to work.
  • You must be prepared to receive and respond to shift requests via SMS or email from early morning to evening, between 06:30 and 22:00.
  • Every working day, you impact the students' learning and well-being. Therefore, it is important that you are engaged in your work and quickly familiarize yourself with your assignment. You treat students and colleagues with respect and maintain a professional demeanor.

As a substitute with us, you will have a valuable opportunity to develop within educational work.
