Substitute Teachers Wanted for Lerum Municipality's Primary School and Leisure Activities
Lerum Municipality is known for its scenic locations with lakes and forests. The municipality has 3,200 employees and 43,000 residents but expects to grow significantly in the coming years. Lerum is only a 20-minute commute from Gothenburg and is currently undergoing a development-intensive period with many exciting projects underway, ranging from schools to housing. We are looking for substitute teachers for the spring term of 2026 for Lerum Municipality's primary school and leisure activities.
As a substitute teacher with us, you will be employed through Lerum Municipality's Staffing Unit. The assignments apply when regular staff are absent, which can be for both short-term and long-term substitutes.
How it Works:
You will be intermittently employed (substitute) and receive ongoing requests for work shifts – sometimes at short notice (the same day), sometimes with longer notice. You indicate your availability in our digital booking system, where you can also express interest in specific shifts.
As a substitute, your work assignments may vary from day to day, and you may work in different classes, grades, and schools. Working hours are during weekdays.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
You are a safe and positive role model for our students and support them in both their learning and social development. By being actively present, you guide and motivate students in their schoolwork, participate in their activities, and contribute to a safe and structured environment. You help create a conducive study atmosphere, set clear boundaries, and build good relationships through interaction in the classroom and during other parts of the school day. The work is varied and involves significant responsibility and independence.
Examples of Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct lessons and lead classroom activities based on the regular staff's planning
- Be an extra resource in the classroom and support the teacher in daily tasks
- Assist individual students with tasks and needs that arise
- Be present during breaks to contribute to safety and good relationships
- Work in leisure activities
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone who easily establishes contact in social situations and can quickly build trust with students. You take responsibility, show initiative, and are confident in working independently. You have a good ability to structure your work and drive it forward, while also being attentive, observant, and enjoy collaborating in a group.
You are someone who can quickly adapt to new student groups, routines, and plans, and independently handle situations that arise during the school day.
To work in grades 4-9, a high school diploma is required. Experience from working in primary schools, service professions, or roles where you support or help others is advantageous. We place great importance on personal suitability.
To work with children and youth, a criminal record extract from the Police is required.
