Social Counselor with Coordinator Assignment at Family Center Björken

The social services are undergoing an exciting transformation due to the new social services act, focusing on preventive measures and making ourselves more accessible to our citizens.

In Sjöbo, we are taking clear steps in this direction. We are offering more and more services without needs assessment, and we are available in new arenas, such as the family center, preschools, and schools. As an important part of this development, we are now looking for a social counselor with a coordinator assignment for our family center Björken.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a social counselor, you will work preventively and supportively with families who have children aged 0-6 years. The role also includes a coordinator assignment of 25%, where you lead, coordinate, ensure quality, follow up, and develop the joint work at the family center.

Your primary task is to early identify children's needs for support and to offer services for parents both individually and in groups. You will also provide support in matters related to parenting, relationships, and family situations, among other things through counseling at the Family Center.

Although you will primarily work at the family center as a social counselor, your formal employment will be as a family therapist within the social services' open care. There are several different professions there; such as family therapists, treatment pedagogues, and therapists focused on adults. The operation is organized into two teams with a total of 18 employees. As a social counselor, you will be part of the team that works with services without needs assessment. This creates a collegial closeness within your own profession and good conditions for close collaboration with other parts of the social services.

Together with the central student health services, we form a joint Advice & Support Unit. By combining our expertise, we can offer support to children, young people, and families in an effective and coordinated manner.

Our efforts are based on knowledge and evidence, and we actively work to systematically follow up and evaluate. We value a relational and system-theoretical approach where the child or young person, together with other important people in the family, is always involved.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is a trained social worker or has another higher education that the employer deems equivalent. Experience in family therapy is an advantage. It is also positive if you have specialized knowledge based on attachment and system theory, such as Marte Meo. It is meritorious if you have training in KOMET, Safer Children, BIFF, or other evidence-based methods.

As a person, you need to be flexible and have good collaboration skills. You should be able to work both structured and independently. You also need to have a good ability to document according to current requirements. Furthermore, you are confident in yourself, can create good relationships and alliances, take responsibility, and have achieved personal maturity. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Ongoing selection will be made. Interviews are scheduled for December 15 and December 17.
