Are you ready for a bigger task? We are now looking for RLC operators who are communicative and have a good ability to collaborate. With us, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the Police's mission – to increase safety and reduce crime in society. You do not need to be a police officer to work as an operator at the Regional Operations Center. We are looking for civilians and police officers who want to work as RLC operators with us in Umeå.
The Regional Operations Center of Region North is responsible for the police's intervention operations throughout the region. Here we receive and handle incoming high-priority cases concerning Norrbotten, Västerbotten, Västernorrland, and Jämtland counties. The workplace consists of RLC operators, RLC commanders, and duty officers. At RLC North, incoming phone calls and radio calls are handled, assessed, and prioritized. Here, the region's minute-operational activities and any major incidents that arise are managed.
The operations at RLC are characterized by a clear citizen perspective. RLC must maintain a very high availability in cases that require immediate or urgent police interventions, and a high availability in other cases. The operations should be permeated by a willingness to always provide good service to citizens and colleagues in the field. RLC is staffed around the clock, every day of the year, including weekends and holidays.
Job Responsibilities
As an operator, you will have a varied job. The main task of RLC operators is to receive incoming calls to the Regional Operations Center 24/7, provide good service to citizens, assess and register information, and prioritize and dispatch police resources to various assignments. You will work in several IT systems that help you search for information and create an overview of police resources in intervention operations. You will lead and guide police resources in various assignments and ensure that your colleagues in the field can carry out their work safely. The work takes place in an open office landscape, which facilitates opportunities for support and exchange of experiences in everyday life.
The work consists of many points of contact, and as an operator, you will collaborate internally within the Police Authority, but also externally with other authorities and partners.
The work as an operator begins with training that provides you with the right tools and conditions to take on the assignment.
