Now we are looking for a Kitchen Manager for Meals and Local Services at Lidköping Municipality

About the job

The Meals and Local Services department is Lidköping Municipality's organization responsible for all meals within preschool, school, high school, and elderly care, as well as performing all local services within the municipality's operations.

We prepare about 9500 portions per day and clean nearly 250,000 square meters throughout the municipality. We are a total of about 220 employees.

As the kitchen manager at Björkhaga, you have the opportunity to make a difference every day for everyone from our youngest to our oldest guests, as the kitchen prepares food for both the preschool, the elderly home, and the meeting place. In this position, you will have great opportunities to influence and develop both the daily work in the kitchen and throughout our organization by participating in various development and work groups.

Lidköping Municipality believes that meals should be an important and natural part of the day that contributes to both joy and energy.

Responsibilities

As a kitchen manager, you are responsible for the daily operations in the kitchen, including planning, preparation, and serving of good and nutritious food according to our guidelines, as well as self-control, dishwashing, cleaning, development, and follow-up.

You work closely with your colleagues to create a pleasant workplace and collaborate with other staff in the operations to create comfort and well-being for our guests through meals. In your role as kitchen manager, you may also receive interns and apprentices as needed.

Who are you?

We see that you have a three-year high school education, large kitchen and chef training, or equivalent experience and have worked for at least five years as a chef. You have good knowledge of various special diets.

If you have experience working in large kitchens in the public sector, we consider this an advantage. If you have also worked with various digital systems related to kitchens and meals, this is also an advantage as increased digitalization is one of the municipality's goals. We use, among other things, the Matilda dietary system, digital self-control, and RainDance.

You must be proficient in Swedish, both spoken and written.

You have a B driver's license.

We want you to be service-oriented and stress-resistant, as well as having good collaboration and communication skills. You should be able to perform tasks independently, take initiative, and be flexible, but also delegate when necessary to involve your colleagues. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.

Other

The position is currently as a kitchen manager located in the kitchen at Björkhaga, but your employment is within the entire Meals and Local Services department.

The employment is a permanent position, and the working hours are currently scheduled Monday to Friday, according to a schedule. We offer flexible hours and wellness benefits.
