The Nephrology department in Lund is responsible for specialized nephrology care and advanced nephrology treatment in the southern healthcare region. The Nephrology department in Lund includes two hemodialysis clinics, an inpatient ward, and a kidney outpatient clinic. Additionally, there is a clinic for training and follow-up of patients in peritoneal dialysis and home dialysis. Kidney and pancreas transplants for our patients are performed in Malmö, while follow-up takes place in Lund.

We are a clinic with a good atmosphere and a focus on close collaboration between professions. Our outpatient care sees patients for regular visits, for conversations, treatment, or rehabilitation. Here you will find a collective competence of various professional categories such as social workers, physiotherapists, dietitians, nursing assistants, nurses, medical secretaries, administrators, and doctors. The organization aims to prevent organ damage through prevention, improve patients' quality of life, work for engaged employees, and drive research and development.

The role of a hospital social worker with us means providing support and advice to kidney patients and their relatives. As a social worker, you provide conversational support to strengthen patients' and relatives' ability to cope with the stresses associated with the illness. Together with your colleague, you will be responsible for our transplantation and donor reception, dialysis clinics, our kidney outpatient clinic, and inpatient ward, and have contact with pediatric nephrologists regarding the transition of adolescents to adult care. You will also have some collaboration with other nephrology social workers. As a social worker, you will also work with practical social measures aimed at supporting patients to have a sustainable social situation and good compliance with their treatment.

Living with a chronic kidney disease affects all areas of life, family, relationships, work life, and future plans. Psychosocial support from healthcare is offered, and here you, as a social worker, have a central role. Living with a chronic illness requires access to the entire care chain. QUALIFICATIONS

We now welcome you who have a degree in social work with good language skills in Swedish, both spoken and written. It is an advantage if you are a licensed healthcare social worker and have experience working with chronically ill patients.

We are looking for someone with an interest in development projects and working with patients with chronic illnesses, which involves long-term care contacts. Since you will have close collaboration with social work colleagues and other professional categories, collaboration skills, problem-solving abilities, and a strong interest in people are highly prioritized. For us, it is a given that you are confident in your role as a social worker since there will be independent work. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
