We are looking for a kind and competent assistant for a very social 15-year-old boy who is as happy as a ray of sunshine.

The workplace is both in central Stockholm and at other locations where the client has activities. However, most of the work takes place in central Stockholm where the client lives.

You should preferably be a positive active woman aged 25-50.

Working hours on weekdays are from 16:15 to around 20/22 or 16:15 to 08 with some rest time (on-call) when you help as needed at night. There is also the possibility of day shifts on weekends and school holidays.

The client has non-verbal autism level 2, moderate intellectual disability. His interests include listening to music and watching movies on an iPad that is always with him, riding, running around and playing. Going for walks, running outdoors in nature, exploring and having coffee outside, jumping on a trampoline, swimming in a pool primarily but also at the beach. It is also cozy to be at the allotment at Stora Skuggan.

It is important to understand that he needs supervision at all waking hours and pedagogical training in daily living skills.

As this boy is physically ill with severe pain at times, he may be outwardly aggressive towards others and himself during pain attacks. Your patience and kind heart are crucial here. You are good at reading the situation and can adapt to how his daily condition is. It is important that you understand your role as a personal assistant in a home. You are unpretentious and solution-focused. You are not allergic to pets as this boy may have riding on the schedule. You are smoke-free.

Your tasks:

● Assist and be a communicative assistant in activities, both in and outside the home environment.

● Train communication using AAC on Tobii Dynavox. You have no difficulties handling games, apps, and other technology. You will receive an introduction at the workplace.

● That you can work in a low-arousal manner in your approach is something we consider a given.

● Leisure activities you will accompany and be responsible for include visits to museums and outdoor activities at places like Rosendal and Skansen, swimming, trampoline parks, riding, swimming, and gymnastics.

● Hygiene - assist with changing stoma and administering medications.

● Working hours are weekday afternoons from 16:15/evenings/nights when on-call is included and you help if needed, as well as daytime on weekends/school holidays, you will meet at school or upon return from school. Morning work and accompanying to school may also be relevant.

● Accompanying/traveling to the hospital may also be relevant.

Requirements:

● Knowledge and experience with children with non-verbal autism and intellectual disabilities.

● Experience training AAC Tobii Dynavox - you should be interested in this, training will take place continuously.

● Experience with low-arousal approaches.

● Driver's license.

However, we place the highest demands on personal suitability, that you master the Swedish language in both speech and writing, and much else can be learned. Meritorious: Healthcare knowledge - such as changing stoma and being able to determine if a child is sick/needs care. Experience with horses/can ride Active, interested in gymnastics for children with disabilities and physiotherapy.
