Sundsvall Municipality has approximately 8000 employees and is significant for our society. We are Sundsvall's largest employer with several workplaces in various sectors and around 300 different professions.
The municipality has a large mission to create benefits for all our residents. Regardless of the activity, we work towards the same goal: to be a good place to live, work, and thrive.
Sundsvall Municipality is in an exciting phase. Our municipality is part of the green transition in Northern Sweden, where a major establishment is underway, leading to many new jobs and thus many new residents. We are fully preparing by, among other things, preparing land, creating new educational opportunities, marketing the municipality, and welcoming new residents from all over the world.
The Individual and Labor Market Administration (IAF) consists of Individual and Family Care, Labor Market, and Adult Education. The administration is divided into four operational areas: Work and Support, Children, Youth and Family, Substance Abuse and Mental Health, and Adult Education. The administration works to create conditions for learning, work, improved living situations in cases of mental health issues and substance abuse, safe upbringing conditions, and reduced social exclusion.
We work preventively and based on the individual's needs and opportunities, providing the right support at the right time, thereby increasing the chances of self-sufficiency for the individual. Within the Work and Support operational area, we are now looking for two social workers.
In Work and Support, we focus on providing the residents of the municipality who seek help with the support they need to become self-sufficient through work or studies. One of our strengths is that we work in cross-professional teams around the individuals we meet. Our staff collaborates closely with each other to succeed in our common mission.
Through our collaboration platform, the Labor Market Square, we also work closely with staff from the Employment Service, the Social Insurance Agency, and the Region. We also have resources in the form of occupational therapists and business coordinators with whom we collaborate closely.
We offer a varied job that allows for both independent work and teamwork. There is present and supportive management and a workgroup that assists in daily tasks.
We have external supervision once a month as part of our development in the job and to maintain a good work environment.
We offer a wellness hour per week, wellness vouchers, or wellness benefits. It is also possible to work remotely up to 40%.
Our offices are located in central Sundsvall, within a 10-minute walking distance to the bus and train station.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
The main task as a social worker within economic assistance is to investigate, assess, and decide on the right to economic assistance while also investigating, motivating, and supporting towards self-sufficiency based on the individual circumstances.
The work is carried out through good collaboration with other units within the administration, the Employment Service, the Social Insurance Agency, the Region, and other partners. The individuals we contact and who receive support may have various forms of work hindrances such as physical and mental health issues, social problems, cognitive variations, and lack of knowledge of the Swedish language.
The individuals we contact are often relevant to other units as well, which requires collaboration for the individual's best interest. It is important to utilize all competencies. We continuously develop our work and keep ourselves updated regarding societal changes, legislation, and legal practices.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone with a degree in social work or another behavioral science academic degree that the employer deems equivalent. At least 180 credits or equivalent to 120 in the old system.
