Description

At the Syncentral, we work with habilitation and rehabilitation for individuals of all ages with visual impairments or blindness.

Our team consists of dedicated vision pedagogues, social workers, administrative staff, optometrists, and ICT technicians who collaborate to meet each patient's unique needs.

We are now looking for someone who wants to be part of our team and make a difference for people with visual impairments or blindness. With us, you will have the opportunity to contribute your expertise in a meaningful job where collaboration and development are in focus.

This is a position to be filled at the Syncentral in Skövde. To reach out to relevant professional categories, more than one advertisement has been published, as several professional categories are eligible to apply for the position.

Responsibilities

As a vision pedagogue with us, you will have an important and varied role where you primarily meet adult patients with visual impairments or blindness. Your responsibilities include, among other things:

• Conduct assessments and establish care plans based on a person-centered approach and our mission.
• Test, train, and prescribe aids. Visual adjustments in smart devices.
• Work to strengthen the patient's independence through strategies in daily activities.
• Collaborate with other care providers.

Qualifications

You are positive, have a good demeanor, and the ability to switch between independent work and teamwork. It is important that you see opportunities, can take your own initiatives, organize your work, and contribute to a good working climate. You are structured and take responsibility for driving your and the team's work forward.

You who are applying should be a qualified occupational therapist, optometrist, ophthalmic nurse, orthoptist, or possibly have completed another academic education deemed relevant by the employer. If you have work experience in rehabilitation/habilitation, education, or work experience in vision rehabilitation or ophthalmic care, it is an advantage. As support in your introduction, we offer internal training and the opportunity to shadow an experienced vision pedagogue.

This gives you a safe start and good conditions to enter the work in a good way. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
