Your Workplace

We are now looking for employees for summer temporary positions in 2026 in our departments of clinical chemistry, clinical microbiology, clinical pathology, and transfusion medicine. Together, we form the Laboratory Medicine Värmland area, and within our specialties, we provide quality-assured analysis and diagnostic results to ensure the right diagnosis and treatment for patients.

Clinical chemistry performs venous and capillary sampling on patients at healthcare centers and hospital laboratories throughout the county and analyzes in areas such as general chemistry, hematology, coagulation, protein, drug, and medication analyses, as well as functional examinations.

Clinical microbiology performs diagnostics of microorganisms such as bacteria, viruses, fungi, and parasites in infectious diseases and can provide advice on antibiotic selection.

Clinical pathology deals with the handling of tissue and cell samples for microscopic diagnostics as part of the investigation and evaluation of treatment for tumor diseases and many inflammatory conditions.

Transfusion medicine performs various blood collections and produces different blood components. Blood typing and other analyses are conducted to ensure patients receive the blood components and tissues they need.

We are looking for you who want to work with us at the hospitals in Arvika, Karlstad, Torsby, or at primary care laboratories in Filipstad, Hagfors, Kristinehamn, Sunne, Säffle, Munkfors, and Karlstad and surrounding areas. Blood collection in Karlstad is done at GeBlod, Karolinen. Analyses in Transfusion Medicine are conducted at the Central Hospital. You will be able to rank your preferences regarding placement and specialization when you submit your application. Note that clinical pathology and clinical microbiology are only available at the Central Hospital in Karlstad.

Your Tasks

As a summer temp with us in laboratory medicine, you may perform sampling, register and sort samples, prepare samples for diagnostics, perform, assess, and report certain analysis and examination results, as well as draw blood and plasma donors in Transfusion Medicine.

Your Skills and Competencies

We primarily seek those who are licensed biomedical analysts, have other equivalent university education, are nursing assistants, or nurses. You who are studying to become a doctor, nurse, nursing assistant, or other similar education are also welcome to apply.

Great emphasis is placed on personal competencies such as attention to detail, teamwork ability, focus on quality, flexibility, and good interaction with patients, clients, and colleagues.
