The Addiction Center is part of the Adult Psychiatry Malmö-Trelleborg service area with its own emergency reception, three inpatient care units, and several outpatient clinics. We offer psychiatric health care services for individuals with substance use disorders that require specialist assessment and care. The unit's mission includes diagnostics, care, and treatment of dependency conditions related to alcohol, medication, narcotics, and gambling.

The Addiction Center is part of university healthcare and actively engages in research and development work. We focus on continuous quality assurance and have a stable staff pool with extensive experience in both psychiatry and addiction syndromes. The team consists of senior physicians, doctors, nurses, pharmacists, caregivers, and social workers working together to achieve the best outcomes for patients. We highly value teamwork.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We now welcome a new nurse to join us!

We receive individuals who often find themselves in very vulnerable situations, and as a nurse, your nursing work is central to the care process. The role is unique as you will work in emergency intake, acute ward, and outpatient clinic. This means that the work is very varied and developing. You will work with medication management, medication follow-up, sampling, health conversations, and the establishment of individual care plans. You will also conduct motivational and supportive conversations with patients. With us, the patient is at the center, and great importance is placed on involving patients in their care process. We have patient forums every week where patients can discuss their experiences of care.

As a new employee, you will be offered an individually tailored orientation program based on your experiences, where you will have the opportunity to shadow a more experienced colleague. This includes a thorough review of job responsibilities. Together, we will ensure you acquire the knowledge you need to succeed in your role.

QUALIFICATIONS

We welcome you as a licensed nurse with the authority to practice within Swedish healthcare. Language skills in Swedish equivalent to at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe’s scale are required. We prefer that you have experience working in psychiatry, emergency care, or addiction care. Specialist training in psychiatry is also an advantage. We work in Melior, Våps, and Pasis, so experience with these systems is desirable.

As a person, you have good collaboration skills and an eye for structure and effective prioritization in your work. We expect you to be a responsible and mature person with good communication skills, who works well both independently and in a team. Furthermore, you have the ability to act professionally and feel secure in your professional role even in stressful situations. We consider it essential that you have a good attitude towards both patients and colleagues. Personal suitability is highly valued.
