Do you want to help develop the future of geriatrics?

We are now looking for a specialist physician with an interest in leadership for our geriatrics section at Uppsala University Hospital.

Our Operations

The field of geriatrics, rehabilitation medicine, and pain center is characterized by multidisciplinary teams – something we are very proud of. We have a broad mission where high competence and strong commitment are common denominators.

The geriatrics section is multifaceted and includes both inpatient care (geriatric acute care, ortogeriatrics, and neurogeriatrics) and outpatient care (memory and geriatrics clinic). Education, research, and quality development are also conducted here. One of our departments is also a clinical education department (KUA), which means we have a special focus on supervision and learning.

Your Mission

As a specialist physician with us, you will primarily work in inpatient care, where on-call duty is included. Outpatient work may also be relevant. You have overall responsibility for patient care and lead the medical work in close collaboration with other professional groups.

You contribute to developing care processes together with the management of the organization and team members. The position may also include a medical leadership role in one of our units, where you will have the opportunity to ensure quality and develop medical processes in close collaboration with the section chief, department head, and other staff. An important part of the mission is to supervise and teach residents and students – thus contributing to the next generation of care competence.

Your Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is a specialist in geriatrics or has other relevant specialist competence deemed suitable for the role. If you have a different specialist competence than geriatrics, it is required that you complement with geriatric competence within the framework of the position.
