Our Operations

At the Dialysis and Apheresis Clinic, highly specialized life-sustaining dialysis treatment is provided to individuals with chronic and acute kidney disease. Each week, approximately 150 individually prescribed dialysis treatments are performed. This entails exciting work where medical technical tasks are integrated into nursing care.

The clinic is located in newly renovated premises at entrance 65 of Akademiska sjukhuset. In addition to our chronic patients, all hospitalized and acutely started dialysis patients come here. Besides hemodialysis treatment, we perform apheresis treatments and, if necessary, we also conduct external treatments in ICU departments and medical wards.

The Dialysis and Apheresis Clinic is part of nephrology outpatient care where we investigate, care for, and treat patients with various kidney diseases. Nephrology outpatient care also includes the kidney clinic and Oscar II dialysis clinic, and together we conduct extensive research and development work.

We are open Monday to Saturday, with evening hours until 19:45 on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. We have around 27 employees, including nursing assistants and nurses, and the work environment is characterized by a good atmosphere. We have a good collaboration with our doctors and also close contact with dietitians, physiotherapists, social workers, and biomedical technicians.

Your Mission

We offer a stimulating job where you become part of a skilled team. During a work shift, nurses and nursing assistants work together to provide patients with their treatment. In daily work, as a nurse, you will have treatment responsibility for 3–4 patients, which includes preparation, initiation, and conclusion of dialysis treatment, as well as continuous monitoring of the patient's vital parameters and well-being. You will have a nursing responsibility for 4–5 patients where you, together with the patient and doctor, set long-term treatment and care goals. You may also be assigned your own area of responsibility where you have the opportunity to influence the operations and its development.

Your Qualifications

We are looking for a licensed nurse, preferably with a few years of experience in nursing and an interest in learning and developing in the field of nephrology. Experience in dialysis or kidney care is an advantage but not a requirement. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability and quality awareness.

Your Skills

We are looking for someone who is self-assured, takes initiative, is meticulous, and strives to meet goals. In addition, you work well with others and communicate clearly.

We Offer

We offer a permanent position at 100% and have a well-developed eight-week introduction program for new staff. The introduction is individually tailored, and you will be assigned 1-2 mentors. Competence development, both practical and theoretical, will then occur continuously. We have individual schedule planning with work primarily during the day but with one evening per week and one Saturday every three weeks. Approximately every other month, you will have a scheduled training day for work with your area of responsibility and individual further education.

If you are interested in an exciting nursing job with good working hours, do not hesitate to send in your application to us. Interviews are conducted continuously, and start date is according to agreement.

With us, you will receive benefits that make a difference, read about the benefits here (https://regionuppsala.se/jobba-hos-oss/bli-var-nya-kollega/formaner/).
