Water Meter Technician for the Water & Waste Department

This position is an expansion and belongs to the operations unit Pipe Network under the Water & Waste department. The unit currently has 13 employees who work together with a focus on operational reliability, maintenance, and development of water and sewage systems.

The Water & Waste department is part of the technical administration. Our administration works to ensure that the municipality's traffic environment is safe and accessible, and that children, youth, and the elderly receive nutritious and good food in our school activities and special accommodations. We are responsible for residents' access to clean and fresh water from the tap. We manage the collection of household waste and waste facilities, cleaning for our administrative premises, contract and rental management, as well as service. We also oversee recreational facilities, parks, and playgrounds. Nearly 200 employees in the administration focus on strategy, sustainability, collegial learning, and collaboration across boundaries - with the best interests of companies and residents in mind!

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a water meter technician with us, you will work with the installation, maintenance, and replacement of water meters for our customers. You are an important part of our work to ensure effective and sustainable water metering. You will have a varied job where you meet many different customers, both individuals and companies. The work is done both independently and together with others.

Your main responsibilities include:

• installation, replacement, and service of water meters
• inspection and troubleshooting of meter locations
• customer contact and appointment scheduling
• documentation in digital systems
• reporting of deviations and improvement suggestions
• collaboration with colleagues within the Water and Waste department.

QUALIFICATIONS

To be considered for the position, you need to have a technical education at least at the high school level or equivalent experience in the relevant areas. Since we have a large service area, you also need a B driver's license.

It is important that you have good computer skills and administrative ability for documentation as we work in systems. We consider previous experience in Water and Wastewater, plumbing work, or similar as desirable.

In your work, you will meet many different customers, which makes it important that you are service-oriented as a person. During days or periods that may be stressful for you, it is important that you remain calm, stable, and focus on the right things. As the workday may change due to unforeseen events, you need to be flexible and able to adapt quickly.

Since the work is both independent and in a group, you are a person who takes responsibility for your tasks, can maintain good structure, and has very good collaboration skills.

If you are not a citizen of Sweden, the EU, EEA, or Switzerland and are offered employment, you must be able to prove that you have a valid work permit or are exempt from the requirement to have a work permit.
