Specialist Physician/Senior Physician in Vascular Surgery at the Surgical Center in Umeå

The Vascular Surgery Section is part of the University Hospital Unit (USVE) Surgical Center. We offer local and regional highly specialized healthcare in Region Västerbotten and the Northern region. The section conducts both open and endovascular vascular surgery, and manages diseases of the aorta, extracranial/cervical vessels, visceral and peripheral vessels as well as varicose veins. The unit also performs access surgery for dialysis, tumor surgery, and trauma surgery in collaboration with other clinics. We have a designated regional responsibility for managing highly specialized care, complicated thoracoabdominal aortic diseases, graft infections, and vertebral aneurysm/carotid surgery. We also conduct research in AAA epidemiology, biomarker biology, and peripheral ischemia, but welcome a broadening of our research profile.

Currently, the vascular section is staffed with a guest professor, four senior physicians, two specialist physicians, and one resident physician. We have our own 24/7 on-call line and are not part of the general surgery on-call line. Residents in general surgery are primary on-call in our line.

We are now looking for a specialist physician or senior physician in vascular surgery to join the Surgical Center in Umeå.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for a licensed physician with a specialization in vascular surgery. You have an interest in developing the vascular surgical services with us, particularly in endovascular vascular surgery. You should have broad knowledge in both open and endovascular vascular surgery.

As a person, you are stable and loyal with a strong service mindset and have good collaboration skills. You can manage multiple tasks, are solution-focused, and can adapt to changes in work methods and operations. You are structured and have a good ability to make decisions and work independently.

You have good knowledge of the Swedish language in both spoken and written form.

Verification of medical license and all relevant specialist certificates via the National Board of Health and Welfare (HOSP) will take place once the application has been received.

The position may be offered as a permanent or fixed-term employment based on agreement.
