JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Do you want to make a difference? We are looking for a support pedagogue for our team within daily activities in the southwest!

The team you will join at Järnbrotts prästväg consists of ten support assistants and one support pedagogue, currently serving 15 users who have their employment at the facility. The facility's premises are located at Järnbrotts Prästväg and are built based on the Snoezelen method. Our common approach is based on the user being given the opportunity to stimulate their senses, emotions, communication, and creativity based on the four senses: sight, hearing, touch, and smell, focusing on activation, rest, and communication. The environment should be exciting and encourage participation in the activity or relaxation. We work with individuals at an early developmental stage, and therefore, one needs to pay attention to small signals and build communication based on each individual.

As a pedagogue with us, you will work closely with our participants. Together with the staff group, you will plan and implement activities in the facility based on each individual's conditions and in a way that enables increased independence, self-determination, and participation for the participants. You have an interest and knowledge in the activities we offer our participants. The activities we offer include sign language singing, sensory stimulation, training, and music sessions.

You have a guiding role and contribute with pedagogical support in everyday life to develop the group's competence where you are a role model in pedagogical work and interaction and actively work to ensure that participants have meaningful employment. In addition to your specific areas of responsibility, you are part of the workgroup and perform the same tasks as your colleagues. You will be part of a network with other pedagogues for support, experience exchange, and development work. As a support pedagogue, you work in close cooperation with and on behalf of the unit manager.

QUALIFICATIONS

For the position of support pedagogue, a post-secondary specialization in the disability area is required, covering at least 200 YH points, 120 university credits, or 60 university credits with two years of work experience with people with disabilities. The education should have relevant credits in behavioral science, pedagogy, psychology, social work, and (psychiatric) nursing or other education that the employer deems equivalent. You should have prior experience working as a support pedagogue or similar within disability support and experience leading groups.

Good computer skills and good knowledge of social documentation are required for the position.
