Job Responsibilities

As an IT Support Specialist in the Service Center, you are part of the first line of support for the entire university's operations. The role focuses on IT, where you will play a central role in managing, coordinating, and developing the IT-related support within the Service Center. You will also serve as an important link between the Service Center and other teams in the Service and IT departments.

In practice, this means that you support both students and staff with everything from technical questions and troubleshooting to guidance in systems and digital tools. You will also participate operationally in the Service Center's other activities, which may include work at the reception, handling general, practical, and study-related questions, purchasing and orders, as well as working in the telephone exchange. The work is varied and gives you the opportunity to contribute in many different areas of the organization, from daily routines to projects and development initiatives. Your breadth and service mindset will shine in the interaction with all types of questions that arise in everyday life.

The Service Center is in a development phase where digitization and new working methods are in focus. Therefore, you will not only work operationally with service and support but also have an active role in driving and developing how we work with digital services, processes, and user support. Together with your colleagues, you will become an important part of shaping the future service function at the university where technology, accessibility, and quality go hand in hand.

Requirements for this position

  • Relevant academic education or equivalent experience deemed comparable by the employer.
  • Experience in service and customer interaction, preferably in a public or international environment.
  • Experience in IT support and troubleshooting, including work in a service desk or similar support functions.
  • Good technical knowledge in Windows environments and Microsoft 365, as well as a basic understanding of macOS, mobile devices (iOS and Android), and digital communication channels.
  • Very good ability to express yourself in Swedish and English, both orally and in writing.

Desirable qualifications for the position include:

  • Experience in reception work in a public environment.
  • Experience with case management systems and documentation of support cases.
  • Active participation in projects or experience in driving smaller projects.
  • Familiarity with purchasing, orders, and managing supplier contacts.
  • Additional language skills beyond Swedish and English.

The position is a permanent employment. A six-month probationary period may be applied.
