IT Technician with User Support Focus

About the Unit

The Swedish Armed Forces' Telecommunications and Information Systems Command, FMTIS, has the main task of managing the operation and maintenance of command support systems at all levels of readiness both nationally and internationally. The unit you will belong to is led from Örebro, but the work is located in Stockholm.

Main Responsibilities

The role of IT technician with a focus on user support involves a wide range of support-related tasks. You play an important role in ensuring a well-functioning and up-to-date IT environment for the user together with your colleagues. Your tasks include user support with client installations, support, troubleshooting often on-site with the user. To some extent, troubleshooting, cable patching, and documentation of network components are also included.

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

  • At least a high school education with an IT focus and/or experience that we assess as equivalent
  • Experience working as a user-facing IT technician
  • Experience in installation/troubleshooting of client hardware
  • Good knowledge of the Microsoft Windows client platform
  • Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish and English
  • Driver's license at least class B

DESIRABLE

  • Experience in user support within the Swedish Armed Forces
  • Experience and knowledge of cable patching, switches, and routers
  • Experience in installation/troubleshooting of mobile phones
  • Knowledge of the Swedish Armed Forces' signal protection equipment
  • Experience with Microsoft server or other Microsoft products
  • Certifications in networking (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA) or knowledge that the employer assesses as equivalent

Employment type: Permanent. The Swedish Armed Forces applies a six-month probationary period for those who are not employed by the authority.
Employment degree: Full-time.
The position is civilian.
Work location: Stockholm. Travel may occur, as well as work at irregular hours.
Start date and salary according to agreement.
