About the Unit

The Swedish Armed Forces' Telecommunications and Information Systems Command, FMTIS, has the main task of managing the operation and maintenance of command support systems at all levels of readiness, both nationally and internationally. The unit you will belong to is led from Örebro, but the work is located in Stockholm.

Main Responsibilities

As a systems engineer focused on IT infrastructure, you play an important role where you, together with your colleagues, are involved in the implementation of new technical solutions for the Armed Forces and maintain and manage existing technical solutions. We work in a developing environment characterized by ambition, technical competence, and opportunities for personal development. We are looking for someone who is eager to take on new challenges and works solution-oriented with a sense of responsibility. You will be responsible for and participate in the operation and technical management of parts of the Armed Forces' IT infrastructure. You will work with operations and incidents, design, development of configuration instructions, policies, and management of incoming components. You will work in a team consisting of skilled and experienced colleagues who will help you settle into the role in the best way. The work is varied and mainly performed in the Armed Forces' premises in Stockholm. A large part of our assignments are carried out in project form where you are expected to act as a technical advisor and sub-project leader.

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education focused on IT/Technology and data communication or equivalent knowledge assessed as equivalent by the employer
  • Documented experience in the development, operation, or management of technical systems
  • Generally good knowledge of IT and network technology
  • Previous experience working in complex and security-sensitive IT environments
  • Good ability to express oneself verbally and in writing in Swedish and English
  • Driver's license at least class B

DESIRABLE

  • Relevant work experience in leadership or project management
  • Knowledge and experience working with signal protection-related IT security products such as firewalls and cryptosystems
  • Knowledge and experience of the Armed Forces' IT infrastructure, both software and hardware
  • Knowledge and experience of the Armed Forces' command systems
  • Knowledge of operating systems for servers and virtualization
  • Experience in managing technical systems within IT/Telecom
  • Experience in IT security work/training within IT security
  • Experience working with products such as Cisco, Aruba, Fortinet, and Palo Alto
  • Familiarity with process-oriented work (e.g., ITIL)
  • Completed military basic training

Employment type: Permanent. The Armed Forces applies a six-month probationary period for those not employed by the authority.
Employment rate: Full-time.
The position is civilian.
Work location: Stockholm. Business trips may occur, as well as work at irregular hours.
Start date and salary according to agreement.
